Experience becomes wisdom through reflection.
My hope is that readers see themselves reflected in another person's story, ask questions, and discover that recovery isn't about becoming someone new. It's about remembering who they've always been and becoming who they've always wanted to be.

Why I Showed Up: Launching My Dream at Recovery Day BC
What happens after you get sober?
And why did I decide to put myself out there?
Recovery is about so much more than putting down a drink or a drug. It’s about learning how to live, understanding who you are, finding belonging, and figuring out who you want to become.
In this video, come behind the scenes with me to Recovery Day in New Westminster, BC, as I set up my booth and launch SOS Recovery & Education Services—my dream of making evidence-based recovery education accessible to anyone, whether they go to inpatient treatment or not.
The honest truth? The day did not go according to plan. 😂
And yes... around 4:19, you’ll see me get overwhelmed and cry. I’m new to sharing my life and work this openly, and I’m learning as I go. But recovery doesn’t mean we never get overwhelmed—it means we finally have the tools to move through it.
After 20 years in recovery and 13 years sober, I’m still learning that recovery isn't perfection. It’s knowing how to adapt, ask for help, surrender what I can't control, and just show up as myself.
Recovery Day was a powerful reminder of what the rest of the world doesn't always get to see: thousands of people recovering their lives, their families, and their spirits. The video ends at the Overdose Memorial Tree—a reminder of why this work matters and why I believe with my whole heart: Recovery IS Health. ❤️🩹
Next up, I’m heading to Calgary, Alberta, for the 10th Annual Recovery Capital Conference to explore what’s happening with recovery across Canada—what’s working, what’s being built, and where we still need to grow.
Let’s find out together.

This Is 50: Creating Space for the Life I Want
Sometimes creating a new life starts by creating space for it.
Turning 50 this year, I’ve been thinking about the life I want to create next — personally, professionally, and in recovery. This space is where I’ll write, teach, create videos, build SOS Recovery & Education Services, and continue sharing what I’ve learned through more than 20 years in recovery.
This office makeover became about so much more than changing a room.
This week also marks the launch of my new websites and a chance to bring SOS Recovery Services into the community at Recovery Day in New Westminster, BC on September 12.
Hope to See You There.

There is no failure. There is only learning what doesn't work. Never give up on becoming the highest version of yourself.
